August meeting - FABULOUS show and tell
We really did excell ourselves this time. Our show and tell is always wonderful, but with almost 60 talented quilters in the room at our August meeting, it was nothing short of spectacular. Here's just a sampling.

FIRST BIRTHDAY!!
Our Central Victorian Chapter will be celebrating our first anniversary next week when we hold our Winter Meeting on Saturday 8 August. I simply cannot believe that it has been a year since we first gathered together on a cold day in July and marvelled at the beautiful applique quilts of Di Ford and her sewing group! But there you go - we're all one year older and one year sexier! And we all have probobly at least one more quilt finished and more than one new project (or five) begun!
Our Show and Tell is becoming famous (literally) so don't forget to bring along something to share with your fellow quilters. We all love to see what others have accomplished.
In the meantime, here is some Show and Tell from Corliss - although she doesn't know it yet!

Her magnificent interpretation of the 1860's Bird of Paradise Quilt was unveiled at the Craft and Quilt Fair in Melbourne last week. Corliss completed this gorgeous quilt after only six months of drafting and sewing. She has named it Civil War Bride. (The pattern and fabric packs are available from Threadbear)
So come along on Sat 8 August and you will be able to see this and many other stunning quilts "up close and personal".
